On May 26, 2009, the Laurel Health System Board of Directors recognized Deb Wivell, Administrator at The Laurels Assisted Living Facility, for successfully completing the Community Leadership Program.

The "Leadership Tioga County" Community Leadership Program is designed for adults interested in enhancing personal leadership skills and community service, and offers selected men and women an opportunity to acquire the personal skills knowledge necessary for effective leadership. The nine-month course covers the major components of community life: Team Building; Technology, Information Literacy and Communication; Business & Economics; The Political Process; Continuous Learning and Workforce Development; Healthy Communities; and Quality of Life.
