CANTON, PA—Monthly Early Head Start playgroups offer an opportunity for parents and children to come together for a fun, insightful evening. Children have fun developing social skills with other children, while parents can interact, share experiences, and learn more about child development.
At Canton’s Early Head Start playgroup, children created colorful windsocks, using colored paper, crayons, and streamers to decorate them.
Joyce Fleming, Early Head Start Family Partner, talked with the children about spring weather and how it would affect their windsock. Marveling at the wind and rain from the playgroup room window, the children learned what would happen to the windsock under each of those weather conditions while enjoying a nutritious snack.
