WELLSBORO, PA—Celebrate the holidays with an ornament to cherish the memory of a loved one. Laurel Hospice will be selling handcrafted, porcelain remembrance ornaments at Dickens of a Christmas on Saturday, December 1st from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the Dumpling House.
New rose and cross ornaments are debuting this year while returning favorites include the star, heart, dove, stocking, humming bird, and teapot. Each ornament is created by mother-and-daughter team Coille and Molly Hooven, award-winning ceramic artists, and will be presented in a gift bag tied with gold ribbon. Large ornaments are $12, and small ornaments cost $6. If placed in a window or by lights on a Christmas tree, light will shine through ornaments’ intricate design.
A Tree of Remembrance will be on display at the booth. Anyone may take a foam angel and write the names of remembered loved ones to be placed on the tree for free. The foam angels will then be transferred to a large tree in the lobby at Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital where they will remain on display throughout the holiday season in spirit of treasuring their memories.
