KNOXVILLE, PA—Dave Stager (left), Laurel Health System Pro-Am Committee member, presents Dennis Fitzwater, Head Coach, and members of the Knoxville Little League teams with a check for $750. The donation will be used for equipment, supplies, and upkeep of the fields.
The funds were raised during Laurel Health System’s Pro-Am Golf tournament last September and were awarded to local youth recreation, athletic, and academic organizations based on need. Funds were raised during the 21st Laurel Health System Pro-Am Golf Tournament in September 2011.
For over twenty years, Laurel Health System has united business leaders, amateur golfers, volunteers, and golf professionals from all over the tri-state under one common goal: helping the children of Tioga County stay healthy, active, and educated. Through outstanding community support, the Pro-Am Golf tournament has raised more than $379,500 over the years to benefit thousands of children, allowing local students the opportunity to pursue healthcare careers on scholarship, and local recreation programs to utilize the funds to purchase necessary grounds upkeep, team uniforms, and much-needed equipment, ensuring they run safely and effectively.
