Thursday, October 18—A Faculty from Geisinger Medical Center's Outreach Education will present a free S.T.A.B.L.E. course to nurses, physicians, and ancillary healthcare staff from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, October 18 in the Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital Board Room. S.T.A.B.L.E. addresses the care of sick infants and is intended for use following neonatal resuscitation provided in the delivery room. Topics include making appropriate and timely decisions regarding infant care, post-neonatal resuscitation procedures, and pre-transport stabilization. Participants must have the current textbook. Tuesday, October 30— Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital will hold a Neonatal Resuscitation course in the Board Room from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This course is based on the American Academy of Pediatrics and American Heart Association's international guidelines for the emergency cardiovascular care of newborns. The standard-length Neonatal Resuscitation Program Provider course consists of seven lessons. Beth Mossman, RCP-R, and Amy Bickhart will serve as instructors. Successful completion of each lesson requires a passing score on the written evaluation for each lesson, as well as successful completion of the performance checklist. Registration is required.
