|What's New at Laurel Health System
WELLSBORO, PA--October 21st through the 27th Laurel Health celebrates National Healthcare Facilities and Engineering Week, also known as National Maintenance Week.
During this week-long celebration, maintenance staff of Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital, The Green Home, ISS, and Laurel Reality are recognized for the excellent job they do every day.
Carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, and mechanics all rolled into one, maintenance employees work behind the scenes from the basement to the roof tops to ensure the heat stays on when it is cold, the A/C stays on when it is hot, and the lights shine bright when it is dark. They are responsible for snow removal, lawn care, and maintaining air handlers, boilers, generators, chillers, cooling towers, and much more.
"I think we have one of the best maintenance teams possible," said Gary Phelps, Facilities Director at SSMH, inviting fellow Laurel Health staff to thank the employees who keep the facilities up and running like a well-oiled machine every day of the year.
