WELLSBORO, PA – Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital (SSMH) has partnered with Linet Americas, a worldwide leader in healthcare technology, to install 49 new, state-of-the-art patient beds to enhance comfort for patients and ergonomics for caregivers.
SSMH is committed to providing the highest level of quality patient care and latest advances in medical technologies and following an extensive clinical evaluation for innovative beds, SSMH selected Linet Eleganza beds. Their revolutionary design provides patients with increased safety without restricting comfort.
The unique features and functions of these new beds will aid in the treatment and recovery of patients, ensuring patient comfort throughout the healing process. Simple to use and clean, the new design allows the whole platform to lift and pivot, making it better able to offload pressure to prevent pressure ulcers. Its lighter weight creates nimble turning when transporting patients. Highly adaptable, Linet Eleganza beds can be reconfigured quickly and easily to accommodate each patient’s unique healthcare needs without the back strain for healthcare workers. SSMH’s ICU model can even be programmed to rotate a ventilator-dependent patient at specific intervals to help improve respiration to achieve breathing on their own that much faster.
Jan Fisher, President & CEO of SSMH, states, “We are currently in the middle of a construction project that includes not only a facility expansion, but also upgrades in healthcare equipment and technology. The installation of these state-of-the-art beds is a reflection of our mission to continually improve patient care, safety, and overall healthcare experience.”
“Linet is very excited to partner with SSMH and looks forward to a productive and longstanding relationship in the years to come,” said Colin Bain, president and CEO of Linet Americas.
Soldiers + Sailors Memorial Hospital is an 83-bed licensed facility providing inpatient medical/surgical services, obstetrics, a hospitalist program, and an inpatient behavioral health unit to more than 40,000 residents. SSMH stays on the cutting edge of the health profession’s ever-changing technology while maintaining the hometown feel, one-on-one attention, and genuine caring of a rural, community hospital. Outpatient services include nuclear medicine services, digital mammography, pulmonary and cardiac rehabilitation, echocardiograms, cardiac stress testing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and laboratory testing.
Surgical services are provided in a broad range of inpatient and outpatient settings, including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, ophthalmology, podiatry, gynecology, and oral maxillary surgery. The hospitalist program features a team of physicians and healthcare providers who work as the in-hospital partners of Laurel Health System's (LHS) primary care physicians by monitoring patients, communicating with those patients and their families, relaying pertinent information back to the referring physician, following up on tests, and adjusting treatment regimens throughout the day or night as needed to facilitate a smooth and speedy recovery process.
