WELLSBORO, PA—Special Olympics athletes accepted a $1,000 check donation from Laurel Health System, presented by Pro-Am Committee member Tim Sinclair at Partners in Progress in Mansfield. The funds were raised during last September’s Pro-Am Golf Tournament, which raises money for youth recreation programs and healthcare scholarships for Tioga County youth.

Special Olympics holds a track and field event at Mansfield University each spring and offers sports training and competition year round to more than 200 participants. Athletes can train and compete in cross country skiing, snowshoe, basketball, aquatics, track and field, long-distance walking, long-distance running, golf, Bocce ball, and bowling.
