WELLSBORO, PA—Laurel Health physical therapists Lori Thomas, PT, MDT, CMPT, OCS, and Jessie Hamilton, DPT, OCS, were recognized by the LHS Board of Directors on their benchmark certification as clinical specialists in orthopedic physical therapy (OCS).
Thomas was re-certified, holding the credential for over ten years, and Hamilton was newly certified. To obtain board certification, candidates must complete required clinical practice in the specialty area of orthopedics with more than 2,000 hours of direct patient care in the specialty area and successfully complete a rigorous written examination, demonstrating specialized knowledge and advanced clinical proficiency in the specialty area of orthopedic physical therapist practice.
Thomas and Hamilton were congratulated by the Board of Directors for their commitment to self-improvement and for their commitment to providing very high quality clinical care.
Laurel Health’s Rehabilitation Department offers Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech/Language Pathology to patients of all ages—pediatric through geriatric. Specialized services are offered in orthopedics, developmental pediatrics, lymphedema management, hand rehabilitation, and vestibular and balance rehabilitation.
